Fright Night in 3D was a brilliant remake of the 80’s classic for many reasons. The start of the film got me into the movie right away. It started off with a view of the town. Very suburban and almost isolated in the middle of nowhere. It was almost like the original, but has a new take and style. It gets right to the point. Vampire scenes with blood splatters in 3D and intense old time horror music(a blend of rock and organs). Very classic horror. Great action. The car chase was great. I enjoyed watching all the vampire transformation scenes. The setting was what made the movie eerie. Most of all, a nostagic horror feel. The 3D was surprising great. It was a well-done remake with a traditional vampire horror feel. I can tell people didn’t want to leave the theatre when the credits started rolling. I liked how it blends a mix of old and new. Mentions of Twilight and Dark Shadows made me smile. Colin Farrell as Jerry was entertaining. At some point, it felt so 80’s. Vampire teeth sinking into the neck and creepy horror background music was really old fashioned. I loved it.
Fright Night should be watched in 3D. It was more exciting. I’m not a fan of 3D, but the screening was in 3D so I went with it and enjoyed it. I’m glad I got to see it in 3D. This was a good 3D experience I’ve ever heard. Probably one of the best! This is along the lines of being like a Let the Right One In/Let Me In remake. Remarkable and perfect. I was surprised the theatre wasn’t packed. I enjoy these types of films more than Harry Potter. The 3D in this movie didn’t give me a headache unlike Transformers 3, which was horrible in 3D or not. The 3D just made it worst.
